Our Vein Therapy Options

Millions of women are bothered by varicose veins. Not only can they be unsightly, but they can also be painful and cause health issues.

Venous reflux, often the underlying cause of varicose veins, frequently forces people to dramatically change their lifestyles, especially when they have standing professions and can no longer tolerate being on their feet all day.

Sclerotherapy and radiofrequency ablation are two effective treatments that can eliminate varicose veins permanently. These treatments are currently available as simple procedures performed directly in the doctor’s office without anesthesia. Visible improvements can be seen in just a few weeks.

Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy is a cosmetic medical procedure used to treat varicose veins and spider veins. A tiny needle is used to inject a solution directly into the vein. The solution irritates the lining of the vessel, causing it to swell and stick together, and the blood to clot. Over time, the body will absorb the treated vein. Mild discomfort may occur, and a cramping sensation may be felt for 1 to 2 minutes with larger veins are injected.

Some temporary side effects may occur at the site of the injection, such as bruising, raised red areas, small skin sores, darkened skin in the form of lines or spots, or multiple tiny red blood vessels.

Radiofrequency Ablation

Radiofrequency ablation uses radiofrequency energy to close the saphenous vein (a large superficial vein in the inner part of the thigh). This procedure is a minimally invasive treatment option to traditional vein stripping surgery. It is used for patients with a condition known as superficial venous reflux, which often results in varicose veins and other painful symptoms.
