Childbirth Education Classes
Are you approaching your 3rd trimester and have unanswered questions about labor and birth? Your first step in preparing for the miracle of birth is to take our Childbirth Education Classes. Designed for couples expecting for the first time or those who need a refresher, this informational class will teach you the basics about giving birth and the first hours with your newborn baby.
Our ICEA* Certified Childbirth Educators will cover a variety of topics with you, including:
- Relaxing comfort measures, breathing techniques, and why movement is important during labor.
- What your partner can do to support you during labor
- Details for scheduled inductions
- C-section Q&A
- “Labor rehearsal” for each stage of labor and delivery
- What happens in the first hours of life (the golden hour, skin-to-skin contact, breastfeeding basics, etc.)
- Safe Sleep Guidelines
- First procedures for your newborn (vaccination, hearing test, circumcision, etc.)
Join us on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month from 9am-12pm or from 1pm-4pm in the Oakwood Conference Room, located in the Memorial Outpatient Center. This class is free and no registration is required! All trimesters are welcome. Support partners are encouraged to attend.

Breastfeeding/Infant Feeding Classes
We are a Baby Friendly Nationally recognized Hospital. Our experienced instructors have many hours in helping new mothers with their feeding choices. Breastfeeding information and alternate feeding choices are shared with new parents to be. Classes are held on the first Thursday of every month at 7 p.m. in the Fieldstone conference room.

Prenatal Tour
Even if you don’t have a baby bump yet, you can benefit from an unhurried prenatal tour where you can ask all your birth-related questions and learn about the various birth settings and services. A tour is an important step toward planning the best possible birth experience. During a tour you’ll see a birthing suite, postpartum room, and Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. You’ll learn more about visiting policies and the various amenities available to ensure your comfort and safety.
